GWP's are extremely athletic dogs with an intense desire to work. They are very natural pointing dogs with a medium range and the durability to hunt all day. Wirehair's also typically have great retrieving desire and rarely lose a crippled bird. With a wire coat they handle cold water better than most other pointing breeds and are really tough to all weather conditions. They also have extreme intelligence and are really loyal to their owners.
